Predicting the Effects of Climate Change by 2100 - Monday, 3 April 2017 at 7:00 PM
When it comes to climate change, the question is no longer “is it happening?” but “how quickly is it happening, and how much will our planet change due to carbon emissions?” Many experts are convinced that we have already passed the tipping point, and climate change is now inevitable. It is from this perspective that we will discuss what life on Earth might be like by the end of this century. Professor Murray Roberts (University of Edinburgh) a marine biologist with expertise on the impacts of ocean acidification on marine biodiversity is presenting, and he will be joined by Professor Dorrik Stow (Heriot-Watt University) a geologist with expertise in past climates, to uncover the issues at hand. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, where debate on the topics covered will be encouraged. This event is suitable for ages 14+. Tickets start from £4.25

The Penguin Counters – Special Show Dome Event - Friday, 14 April 2017 7:00 PM
Our second exclusive ShowDome evening presents a cinematic experience focusing on the research work of Ron Naveen and his team in Antarctica. They count hundreds of thousands of penguins to track the impacts of climate change and ocean health on penguin populations. In turn, this helps us understand our changing world. The Penguin Counters’ treacherous, but heart-warming journey poses the ultimate question in the world’s fastest warming region - what can we humans learn from these penguins on the frontlines of climate change?
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film’s production team and our bar will be open for refreshments from 6:00pm. This event is suitable for ages 14+. Tickets start from £6.50
